Brief encounter

Yesterday, Brian and I went to Buxton for water, as we do every couple of weeks. A woman was at the well and we got into conversation (we've had some interesting conversations at this well, let me tell you). She mentioned the sulphurous nature of the water in Harrogate. I tuned into that and a bit nervously told her that I set my crime novels in Yorkshire. I told her my name. She remarked that it was easy to remember as it is the same as Alfred Wainwright (famous walker & writer).

It was lovely to get a Facebook message from her this morning. The wonders of technology and of meeting people in Buxton.
